Environmental Factors Influencing Alton Towers Uk Tourism Essay
Environmental Factors Influencing Alton Towers Uk Tourism Essay It was a challenge for me to work on this project, because it is a learning process for me that how, I could tackle this question therefore I collected primary and secondary data for my project and try my best to analyze the whole situation and produce a good Peace of work. I gather information about Theme parks called Alton tower. After getting the brief knowledge about this theme park and their strength and weaknesses, through assess to Alton tower website. With the help of some good secondary data such as different website and books sources. I used some marketing strategies such as segmentation which is used to target different types of consumers and it will help to find out how this theme park can do something new among other competitor further I did a pest analyses , created a good pricing strategies which will help this theme parks to do long term planning and allow them to face different threats and problems in a defendable way . Political factor effect very much because Government changes frequently and every Government makes it own policy, which cancel or postponed the previous policies and new policies are implemented, which start their work from zero point and all the previous work and policies result fruitless. Such as theme park might have problems in pricing strategies , if Taxes increasing , expensive increasing , timing factor etc so due to this it can influence the theme park negatively . On other hand if government policies are in the favor of business sector so might be possible that it will help Alton Tower and they can earn more profit margins ,Such as recently UK government has reduce the VAT value added tax which will increase the demand of costumers coming towards theme parks more so this show that ità ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¾Ã ¢s a good step taken by government in favor of business sector. . Government Development When it comes to development so government some time can play a vital role in improving the society standard such as government can give funds to theme parks or provide good facilities for people who comes over there for enjoyments such built sitting area , emergency help desk , locater and maps of London in theme parks for tourists . Environmental protection and regulation To protect the environment government always force the theme park management to be stick on this issue and aware there costumers to follow the regulation such as left eating items , garbic , should be through in dustbins and whole theme park should be Cover up by dustbins . Cars should be not allowed in theme parks they should have separate parking yard due to pollution which is spoiling the environment . Government should put billboards of Environmental protection and regulation on entrance of theme parks to aware people. Contract enforcing law over costumerà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¾Ã ¢s safety. In this factor government will always try their best to make sure that theme parks are having good safety precaution for costumers and whole theme parks is fully covered by CCTV so that they can defend in good way against any dangerous situation . (Dave, 2004 ) , what is pest analysis. (2008) Economical Inflation In this factor if the price increase over all the UK and there is high amount of inflation in country so this will affect the theme park , because there will be a decrease in public spending due to inflation . further if inflation is rising so there will be increase in cost of theme parks such as expenses will rise up , therefore theme park will have no other option left and they will increase their tickets price also . Economic development If the Alton theme parks does a good business ever year such as many people or tourist love to come to UK for enjoyment and in this case Alton theme park Is a good example of entertainment and many people would like to visit it due to this it will have a positive impact over economic conditions of UK, such as there will be increase in GDP , Globalization will increase and there will be a big boom in tourist industry . Employment Alton theme park is place which is full of entertainment and in this case many people want to visit it in different seasons such as summer vacations is a good season in which theme parks are fully crowded . To handle that demand of people Alton theme park will need workers in their organization every year . Theme park can play a vital role in seasonal employment which is good for economic growth because unemployment will be reduced. Mac Gee (2004) Pg 415, (themeparks UK, 2008), titley, b.pg 378 (1993). Social Life style changes When we talk about life style so now days different people have different life style . According to people they want something new in life so therefore they decide to have some good vacations or holidays so that they can stay relax for some time in such busy world , so theme park like Alton can play a vital role in changing life style of people this theme park can allow people to stay relax and have peace in their life such as it has good atmosphere , hotel nice fun place for family and couples . Population and age population and growth rate is a very important factor which can influence any business in a positive or negative way and when it comes to theme park like Alton tower , they need costumers so that they can have good business growth and UK has a good population which is helpful to this theme park and in this population theme parks are more attractive towards kids around 10 to 15 or teen agers so this will help Alton theme parks to do segmentation of people who can be interested in theme parks and then they can target generation X (10-16 ) and Y (16 à ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬ 20 ) .more . Living conditions This is factor which Alton theme park should focus more because this theme parks have hotel arrangements for costumers therefore they have to be perfect in keeping good Quaintly standard living conditions so that customers are satisfied in a good way and once costumers are happy form there services this will help to improve theme parks image and good growth in sales what is pest analysis. (2008). TECONOLGY E Business This is factor which can also help to improve theme parks sales and growth among other competitors such as theme park should have a online buying ticketing system which can help the theme park to increase its sales . and it allows costumer to book their tickets in advance which is a very nice facility to them , the more facility theme park will provide the more costumer will buy . Machinery Alton theme park has many different types of rides which are running through machines therefore every year this machinery should be checked and renovate so that good service is provided to costumers and this theme parks should introduce more high machinery for rides so that good quality is produces while costumer take those rides . Computers To improve the theme parks image or growth organization should bring new latest computer in theme parks for buying tickets or keeping records of all the sales this will help to reduce time and work will be done more faster . Internet Theme park should give wifi internet facility to costumer as they enter in theme parks so that they should have nice time and there pending work should be done easy through internet . what is pest analysis. (2008). For effective marketing research theme parks should focus more on field research such as they should make questioner , survey and then ask the costumers who come to the theme parks which will allow them to get new idea from costumer point of view and also it will tell them weather they are satisfied or not further more to do good marketing research they should following the pricing strategy and segmentation which I mention in my report and it will help them to improve there weak points into strength and they should also review this pest analyses to make their good position among other competitors and it will help them to defend any harm full situation in good way . 1.4) Price Strategy Competitors(theme park Price Price Strategy Alton tower Thorpe park chessington (One day ) Tickets Adult 35 , child 26 , family, 98 (One day ) Tickets Adult 33, child 21, family 88. (One day ) Tickets Adult 32child 21, family 86. Skimming penetration penetration After a survey of the theme parks market price trend through there website link I found out that Thorpe and chessington has applied penetration among other competitors so that they can have good sales . On other hand Alton tower has applied skimming pricing strategy therefore to compete and achieve high sales they should use markriented price strategy or apply presentation for few months until it adjusts in market. (themeparks UK, 2008) , DF IMK student potal ( 2008) 1.5) Segmentation Good marketing research also contain segmentation which is very much important strategy which can help Alton tower in very effective ways . Segmentation is where we group together costumers intro subsets with common need and characteristics to market a product and if we look at Alton tower they should follow this segmentation which is mention above and also this will give idea to them that they should target people in this limit and this segregation suites Alton tower a lot . Demographic AGE: 16-20 generation Y 10 -16 generations X 35-45 Nesters Gender: Male and Female Nationality: English or European Geographic Country: UK Urban Area: London Psychographic Family life style people (themeparks UK, 2008), (Dave, 2004 ), , DF IMK student potal ( 2008)

turing machine :: essays research papers
A turing machine can be defined as a ââ¬Å"device with a finite number of internal configurations, each of which involves the machineââ¬â¢s being in one of a finite number of statesâ⬠. This means that in a machine there are certain inputs that when implemented will produce a certain output. These combinations of inputs can be used in a machine table to show the outputs for each state. By looking at a machine table one will be able to know which combination of inputs is related to the different states and also what happens at each state. Mental states can correlate directly with turing machines in that our minds can be described by using a machine table. The inputs for the machine table representation of our mental states can be seen as our perceptions. By saying perception I mean all the sensory body parts/organs that can perceive an input and send a signal to the mind. These inputs in turn determine the mental state and the behaviors related to each mental state. Because our minds can be mapped out using a machine table, each state can be seen as an instance of functionalism. Functionalism is defined as an object that has a function. Functionalism can be used to describe a single mental state. An example of a mental state that is determined by a turing machine can be the feeling of happiness. In order to be happy there are certain things that are needed to trigger it. This mental state of being happy is triggered by our perceptions and then causes one to express their mental state physically. Our physical expression, I believe, can be altered. For example, if one were told that a dog was called a cat and only knew that dogs were cats then he would always see a dog and call it a cat. It is only because of what we hear and learn from our environment that we call a dog a dog. Being a

Judicial Method: Activism vs Formalism
ââ¬ËJudicial Method: activism versus formalismââ¬â¢ A new era has emerged from the societal and legal changes that have occurred in Australia. The age of Judicial activism has taken over the more traditional method of judicial formalism. Supporters of the latterââ¬â¢s concerns that it promotes power without responsibility, and blurs the separation of powers, however the supporters of the former agree that inevitable changes in society force the judiciary to acknowledge that judicial formalism is a method that is not completely obsolete, but takes is less of a primary concern as it were, compared to other factors that effect a case. Those who are in favour of judicial activism argue that social change has increased the need for legal change and judges need to be able to make decisions considering external factors and using processes other than the law that make judicial method more subjective, adhering to legislation and legal policy but giving more significant acknowledgement to situational factors. The Honourable Michael Kirbyââ¬â¢s pro-activism article centers around the view that judicial method must divert from the traditional method of legalism that Justice Kirby defines as ââ¬Å"strict logic and high techniqueâ⬠. It starts by outlining the need for the judiciary to make this transition into judicial activism due to societal changes, where strict legalism is put under pressure. Justice Kirby then goes on to explain that the method of judicial activism should not be abused by the judges, where it should ââ¬Å"be anchored in legal authorityâ⬠and be ââ¬Å"neither wholly mechanical or excessively creativeâ⬠. He describes that ââ¬Å"restraintâ⬠be used when using judicial activism to ensure that a total ignorance of the written law does not occur . A similar article about pro-activism by Michael Coper agrees that the ââ¬Å"phenomenon of social changeâ⬠¦. has accelerated the rate of legal changeâ⬠and put a ââ¬Å"pressure on concepts like ââ¬Ëstrict logic and high technique ââ¬â¢, thus supporting the viewpoint that judicial activism is a reaction to social change. Another article by Frank Carrigan praises Justice Kirbyââ¬â¢s use of judicial activism directly, outlining this by comparing Justice Kirbyââ¬â¢s methods with Gava, a strong believer in the Dixonian theory of legalism. It explains that even Chief Justice Dixon J, considered to be a leader in the legal formalism movement, used contradictory methods of judgment, promoting legalism but applying judicial activism . This is evidence that change to judicial activism is inevitable as societal changes occur. Pertaining to the other articles, however, there are some shortfalls in Justice Kirbyââ¬â¢s article that must be addressed. Firstly, the article does outline that certain ââ¬Å"restraintâ⬠must be used when applying judicial activism in the process for a judgment. However, exactly how this restraint will be measured, or the factors to be considered in which a judgeââ¬â¢s judicial method is considered to cross these boundaries are not mentioned in his article. He also fails to describe the consequences of the divergence of judicial formalism, that a failure of the independent judges to keep external factors other than the legal text as impartial dynamics rather than personal ones would result in a cataclysmic failure to achieve justice. A loss in consistency would result in a loss in public confidence in the judicial system. Also, Justice Kirbyââ¬â¢s proposal of a more transparent judgment, where the judicial method and processes used to achieve a judgment is open to the general public for critique, may be a technique in which to make sure that a judge does not overstep the restraints, but by openly presenting the judicial method and decision process of a controversial judgment for critique to a society that is already critical of the judicial system may backfire and result in a further loss of public confidence instead of building credibility. Contrasting against Justice Kirbyââ¬â¢s heavily biased pro-activism article, is Justice Heydonââ¬â¢s article that describes the absolute need for adherence and paramount importance to the impartial application of the legal text. Justice Heydonââ¬â¢s article clearly outlines what Justice Kirbyââ¬â¢s article does not, the downfalls of having a judiciary use judicial activism. Justice Heydon points out that by allowing judges to use judicial activism, it ââ¬Å"tends to the destruction of the rule of lawâ⬠by impairing two qualities that are expected of a judge, a ââ¬Å"firm grip on the applicable law [and]â⬠¦total probity. The article continues to state that there is a blurring of the separation of powers, and this becomes a problem as the facility for a legislature to make laws compared to that of a judge results in concerns about the clarity, inconsistency, decisiveness and retrospectivity of the laws that are changed or made by the judiciary. Justice Heydon pro poses that it is not primarily the function of the judiciary to create and change laws, that it should be a limited amount, limited to the legislature, and that the failure to adhere to judicial formalism or legalism would result in failures in various areas of the application of law . John Gavaââ¬â¢s article adds to the need for strict legalism, by indicating that human error in judges can create issues in consistency, and that with a ââ¬Å"state of mindâ⬠the is of legalism, a more ââ¬Å"institutional mindsetâ⬠can be achieved that relies more on a collective wisdom which create decision that conform, rather than those that are more individualized when judicial activism is applied . Owen Dixonââ¬â¢s article further outlines a deeper issue at hand with the abandonment of judicial formalism, the loss of the ability to develop legal principle. It states that there was a ââ¬Å"attempt to develop the law as a scienceâ⬠which would not be possible by neglecting the very ââ¬Å"strict logic and high techniqueâ⬠that is constantly used to describe legalism . As with any legalistic paradigm or state of mind, it is inherent that there will be a pro to a con, an advantage to a disadvantage. According to these articles it is clear that the more common emergence of activism is due mainly to societal change, and the resurrection of formalism has occurred due to concern for the drawbacks that takes place with activism, and rightly so. The former three pro-activism articles and the latter three pro-legalism/formalism articles compliment each other in revealing the advantages and flaws of both judicial methods. After the analyses of these articles, it is apparent that an appropriate balance between the two judicial methods be maintained, always changing, according to the change in Australiaââ¬â¢s society. Expository Prose Assignment Essay
1.Ed Pilkington purpose for this article is to inform the audience that he wants to abolish the rule of execution because in this article, the U.S legal system made a fatal mistake by sentencing an innocent man to his death. à This article is in expository style because it has a thesis that explains what he is going to talk about and it has the proper structure of beginning, body and conclusion. Another reason is because the author is explaining his knowledge on what he believes on, which is informing his audience by sharing the trail of an innocent man. The thesis in this article is explicit. It is explicit because the author clearly states it in the article near the beginning. ââ¬Å"It is now clear that a person was executed for a crime he did not commit, and his name ââ¬âCarlos Deluna ââ¬â is being shouted from the rooftops of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review.â⬠This article is also considered in expository style because it includes methods of exposition. One of the methods that are being used is the short anecdote. This method is shown when the author explains a short flashback of the day of the murder and this evidences to the audience that there is proof that Carlos Deluna is innocent. ââ¬Å"Carlos Deluna told the jury that on the day of the murder heââ¬â¢d run into Hernandez, who heââ¬â¢d known for the previous five years. The two men, who both lived in the Southern Texas town of Corpus Christi, stopped off at a bar. Hernandez went over to a gas station, the Shamrock, to buy something, and when he didnââ¬â¢t return Deluna went over to see what was going on.â⬠Another method is used when the author contrast the trial of OJ Simpson with the Carlos trial. ââ¬Å"This wasnââ¬â¢t the trial of OJ Simpson.â⬠The author uses this method because he is trying to reach out to his audience by saying that this case has no real evidence that Carlos Deluna is the real criminal. While contrasting to the case of OJ Simpson where there was actually proof that OJ was the murderer. The third method of exposition that is used is the process of cause and effect. This example is shown when the author explains how the detectives failed to carry out important evidence like blood samples. The cause in this case would be the detectives not examining blood samples and the effect would be the death of an innocent man 2.The rhetorical situation in this case would be any American citizen that listens or reads about the news and the writer would be Ed Pilkington in New York Times. Ed Pilkington is grabbing the attention of American citizens by informing the citizens that a fatal mistake; made by the U.S legal system caused an innocent man to his death. This article is written for almost all Americans because Pilkington is sending a message to the citizens that they should be more aware of the U.S legal system from now on because miscarriages of justice might happen again. Another reason why this article is for all U.S citizens is because the structure of the article is not long and not too difficult to read. The structure of this article is simple and easy to understand. Pilkington made his paragraphs short but long enough to explain the article precisely. Meaning all Americans can read this article, not just intellectual geniuses. Lastly, the nature of the relationship between the author and the reader is American to another American. The reason for this is because Pilkington wants all Americans to hear about his article, not just specific amount of people. So Pilkington (an American) is explaining his story with other Americans. 3.The definition of style is a characteristic manner of expression, combining the idea that is being expressed with the individuality (the particular voice) of the author. Style includes such general qualities as diction, sentence structure and variety, imagery, rhythm, coherence, and emphasis. In this article the style the author uses is simple and understandable. The author uses some of the qualities that are mentioned in the definition. One of the qualities the author uses is diction. The diction in this piece of article is informal and easy to understand. The vocabulary is not difficult and it is easy to read so most Americans will be able to understand the entire article. Also another style quality that is used is the sentence structure. The sentence structure of this article is short but exact. Meaning it has the right amount of important information and since its short, most readers would not lose interest from it. 4.The relationship between the audiences is Ed Pilkington the author, to any American citizen. Ed Pilkington in this article seems to know his audience very well. He grabs the audienceââ¬â¢s attention by using an easy type of style that can be understood by the general public, while still explaining the authorââ¬â¢s opinion. The author not only grabs the audienceââ¬â¢s attention, he expresses his purpose through out the whole article. The authorââ¬â¢s purpose is to try to convince his audience that the capital punishment of execution should be abolished. Like I said before, the author uses a style that is effectively easy for the audience to understand the meaning of criminal and political matters. Even though the authorââ¬â¢s style makes the article well written, the article seems to be less effective then effectual. The author explains the article by implying the meaning in one case. The author could have compared more articles on fatal mistakes from the U.S legal system because the trial occurred few years from now and as years go bye, the Government legal system has been improved. Furthermore, the article is effective because the author proves his thesis by describing how an innocent man was sentenced to death but the fact that the author used one example, makes it a risky decision to follow. So overall, the author proves his thesis by using the right type of style, but the concept of abolishing the lethal injection does not seem comprehensible with the proof of just one article.

Written assignment and pressntation Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Written and pressntation - Assignment Example Psoriasis is characterized by abnormal differentiation of the keratinocytes, epidermal hyperplasia and high concentration of neutrophils (Gudjonsson et al., 2004). Psoriasis results in proliferation and dilatation of the skin blood vessels and thereby increases the concentration of the inflammatory cells in the dermis. Many systemic disorders are found to be related to Psoriasis such as diabetes mellitus, Crohnââ¬â¢s disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity, depression, and metabolic syndrome. (Mak, Hundhausen & Nestle, 2010). The types of psoriasis are Plaque psoriasis, Flexural Psoriasis, Seborrheic psoriasis, Guttate psoriasis, Postilar psoriasis, non-Postular Palmar Plantar psoriasis, and Nail psoriasis. The most common form of psoriasis is the plaque psoriasis which accounts for 90% of the cases (Roberson & Bowcock, 2010). As psoriasis is characterized by the keratinocyte concentration, a variation in the maturation and production of these keratinocytes leads to the i ncreased inflammation and promotes angiogenesis (Quesniaux, Ryffel & Pavoda, 2009). Psoriasis was initially considered as an autoimmune disease mediated by Th 1 Lymphocytes but the recent studies have found that IL- 23, IL- 22 and Th 17 are the important mediators of the disease (Gudjonsson et al., 2004). IL -22 was found to be at high concentration in the psoriasis patients whereas in the healthy persons, the molecule was not detectable. The treatment with Cyclosporin A has reduced the IL- 17 and IL 22 gene expression in the psoriasis patients (Gudjonsson et al., 2004). The inflammatory nature of the skin clearly proves that the immune cells react with an unidentified antigen in the body. Genome wide linkage studies were performed, to identify the key factor in the chromosomes. It was found that human leukocyte antigens (HLA) have a significant association with psoriasis. HLA A, HLA B and HLA C linkage to psoriasis was confirmed

Should Juveniles Be Charged as Adults in Criminal Cases Research Paper
Should Juveniles Be Charged as Adults in Criminal Cases - Research Paper Example Transfer mechanisms may vary according to where the responsibility for the transfer decision making lies and the provisions for this fall into three categories: a judicial waiver, concurrent jurisdiction, and statutory exclusion. In a judicial waiver, the juvenile court judge has the power to relinquish the juvenile courtââ¬â¢s right and move the case to an adult criminal court. In a concurrent jurisdiction however, the original jurisdiction for certain cases is shared by both the criminal court and the juvenile court and the prosecution has the discretion to decide in which courts to file the cases in. In statutory exclusion, a state statute excludes certain juvenile offenders from the jurisdiction of a juvenile court and the cases against them come from criminal courts. Because of the increasing crime rates, as well as the more dangerous crimes being committed by juveniles, more pressure is being exerted not only by prosecutors and but also by the general public to charge these youths as adults as opposed to their being processed through the juvenile justice system. Virtually every juvenile offender with a past criminal history or is notorious for violent crime, is tried an adult court (Buffalo News, 1994). Rhodes, K (2008) states that while structures are present in all states to try and discipline juveniles in ways that are distinctive from adults, crimes such as rape and homicide are controversial because it is not easy to determine whether juveniles merit a less punitive treatment from that of adults. It is understandable that some people would seek to have the juvenile offenders receive a harsher punishment for their crimes especially considering the high number of crimes being committed by juveniles. The juvenile justice system has been reformed so much to an extent that they are almost indistinguishable from the adult justice system. The question that we have to consider is whether all these reforms have been of any benefit to the society or not. Th ese harsh laws which have been put in place to curb juvenile crime have been proven not to work over the years and have instead treated this age group unfairly and inhumanely, not achieving the safer society which was the purpose for their being enacted (Crime Control Digest, 2004). It has been proven that juveniles who have been prosecuted through the adult system serve shorter sentences and their experiences in adult prisons teaches them to become even more dangerous criminals once they are released. Furthermore, counseling, which is crucial in helping the juveniles in the transition to life beyond prison, is denied them in adult prisons and it has been observed that many juveniles have a hard time adjusting to life once they are released back into society. This is due to the fact that while youths in the juvenile system undergo programs to reform them, those in the adult system learn to become hardened criminals, hence the increasing likelihood their going back to crime in societ y once they are released. While the juvenile system hides the criminal records of youths who have gone through it, the adult system does not and the adult criminal records of convicted juveniles keep them from getting jobs or being admitted to some schools and this leads them towards committing new crimes in order to make money for survival. Once these youths are stuck with criminal records, they tend to be permanently stigmatized and are allowed few opportunities to regain
